How to Live a Balanced life
As we transition into the fall we discover less daylight hours, more rain and yes the weather gets colder. It can feel gloomy for some of us, and there will be days that our body flags with various symptoms.
Many people gain 13-16 pounds of body fat over the next 4 months.
Why you might ask?
It’s usually a combination winding down to semi-hibernate and lifestyle oversights such as:
- Not enough strength training. We need to strength train 3 times a week to maintain our muscle mass and burn fat. This is what keeps our body strong youthful healthy and fosters independence into our later years
- Drinking water, we need at least 8-12 (eight ounce glasses of water a day to allow our body to maintain a healthy weight and feel satisfied) its common for people to mistaken thirst for hunger.
- Your Food needs to be the highest quality that you can afford; your food will become your brain lung heart and organ tissue. If you put inferior products into your body, your body will look normal but will not work properly. If you rebuilt a house with particleboard instead of industrial wood, we both know the stability of the house would be in question. Sooner or latter things would go wrong. This is the same as eating commercial processed food, it might look or taste ok unfortunately it has traces of pesticides, hormones and heavy metals.
- A self-care plan is essential to stay healthy as we transition into the winter. Rich homemade soups, roasted vegetables farm raised protein sources and other foundational building foods ease our transition into colder months adding Vitamin D3 is important, getting enough sleep and reducing stress can help you sty healthy. Illness is often linked to inadequate self care
