Bad Backs

BAD BACKS

“I HAVE A BAD BACK.”

I often hear people refer to their bodies in this way and I understand how they feel. Chronic pain can make your world feel very small, when the focus of your day is avoiding movement that causes back pain and discomfort.

If I can turn my life around so can you.

But back pain doesn’t have to be a life sentence.

I have been able to help many clients living with chronic back pain, and have specialized training to repair back problems. It can be hard to believe at first, but you do have choices. The first step is to affirm that your body is capable of repairing itself, and indeed wants to experience pain-free movement. Instead of resigning yourself to having a bad back, be willing to explore the options available to you.

The cause of back pain can be either organic or mechanical. Most cases of back pain are not actually caused by serious conditions such as inflammatory arthritis, kidney infection, bone fractures, or cancer. Most back pain is related to the mechanical operation of your spine, and the way this amazing combination of bone, ligament, and muscle work together. Getting to the root of the problem is the first step.

Organic
Some organic conditions can be positively affected by dietary changes and your body can utilize certain nutrients to bring healing, repair tissue, and reduce inflammation.

Mechanical
There is strong evidence to show that spinal manipulation is equally effective in treating back pain as medical care and exercise. There’s also evidence to support that correcting spinal alignment, improving posture, and correcting habitual movements can decrease pain, increase strength, and improve mobility.

I received extensive training to address Functional Rehabilitation for back issues/ concerns from Dr. Stuart McGill at backfitpro.com. I’m also a Certified Nutritional Therapist 2013 NTA.com, so whether your back pain is caused by organic or mechanical problems, the road to improvement can start today.
